We had a lovely few days at Newlands in early March so it was very quiet with few people on site. The restaurant was open, serving excellent food and we ate there a couple of times. The park is a 20 minute walk to the beach and almost on the coast path with great views from the top. Wifi was mostly good, as was the TV reception. We were a couple in The Emerald Lodge which catered for 6 with 3 beds and two bathrooms. It was very warm and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay including a nice living area with comfortable chairs. The staff were all friendly and helpful and we were greeted warmly on arrival. We'd have preferred the swimming pool to stay open later, it closed around 5pm which was before we'd return at the end of each day. A sit in the sauna or a swim would have been lovely after a long day's walk. The biggest downside is the road noise which is quite intrusive, even at night we could hear the lorries and traffic and ear plugs are a must if you're a light sleeper. It wasn't really warm enough to sit outside on the decking whilst we were there but it would have been very noisy if we had. That aside we really enjoyed our stay - thanks!
