Location was good, the lodge was comfortable and well equipped, also good value for money. Coin meter for electricity is a bit of a pain but it is what it is and we were aware of it beforehand. The one thing that makes me not recommend is that we found the staff intrusive (one member of staff, presumably the owner). We arrived late evening and went straight to our cabin. The next morning we had a visit from this staff member / the owner. When he got to the door he reached for the door handle as if he was about to open it - I made it first thankfully but had I not, I expect he would have opened it / come in. I opened the door to greet him and had to stay in the doorway as his body language suggested that was going to / expecting to come in. My nervous dog was barking and distressed / in protective mode (which is why we choose private lodges over hotels). He made a bit of a shirty comment that 'we could have rang to confirm our arrival time as he'd waited until 8pm'. I received no phone call. The rest of the conversation was pleasant enough, checking we'd figured out how to work things, helpful information but I honestly would have prefered to read it.On the day of departure, which is stated as 9am, we got another knock at the door at 9.05am to remind us to leave. He was accepting of the fact that our intended leave time would be 10am. At the risk of sounding entitled, I believe 9am is too early and unnecessary, now that covid deep clean requirements have gone. I know that I was late leaving, but this is the only time departure has been so early and actually been prompted within 5 minutes.Potential to be a great stay but the first interaction was so odd that I then felt compelled to keep the door locked in case we had another visit when we may have been less dressed!
