Nestling deep in a stunning location, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Otterfalls is set in 120 acres of the unspoilt Otter Valley – a rural idyll of sparkling lakes, leafy woods and beautiful rolling countryside abundant with wildlife. For those seeking high quality accommodation with superb facilities and a peaceful relaxing location, Otterfalls is the perfect choice to enjoy Summer holidays, Spring, Autumn or Winter breaks.

Otterfalls offer a variety of holiday accommodation to stay in to suit the size of your party and personal taste. From restored farm cottages overlooking pretty courtyards to modern pine log lodges looking out over the lakes, there’s something for everyone.

The superb facilities include a bright and airy indoor heated swimming pool with sunbathing terrace. Otterfalls 40-acre estate offers plenty to the nature explorers, dog walkers, cyclists and wildlife lovers. Spend your days getting out into nature followed by an evening sitting around a woodland setting barbecue, or in your own outdoor bubbling hot tub.

Off the beaten track, yet within easy reach of sandy beaches and lovely villages of Dartmoor and Exmoor, Otter Falls is the perfect base for exploring this wonderful area. Honiton, a mecca for antique hunters, with a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs and a twice weekly market, is only 5 miles away and there is a cosy pub in the village of Upottery, a mile away. The elegant Edwardian resort of Sidmouth, the delightful fishing village of Beer and romantic Lyme Regis are all under 20 miles.

One thing’s for sure, when you’re at Otterfalls fishing on the lakes, watching your dog run through the woodland trails, or strolling along the banks of the River Otter, you may find it hard to imagine that your total escape from the outside world is so much closer than you think.

This was the second visit to Otter Falls, this time in an Otter lodge, everything was as expected with the lodge being clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchen. The bedroom was light and airy with a very comfortable double bed and plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space, Tuesday afternoon (as usual) was complimentary Cream teas in the restaurant, made the Devon way of course, although we did make one Cornish cream tea as well as well.I fished the middle lake two mornings and caught a few carp on both days from 9lb and 14lb, not bad for winter fishing, the carp were clean, in good condition showing no signs of Otter predation. We were there for seven nights on this occasion so we went out and about visiting Honiton, Sidmouth and Seaton, we did visit Fordmore farm shop and cafe near Cullompton, be aware when travelling on the A373 from Honiton to Cullompton as the potholes and gullies on each side of the road are horrendous. We are visiting again next month, this time staying in a Cottage with family, looking forward to our return.
