Mowbreck Park

4.6

out of 5

Enjoy the peace and quiet at Mowbreck Park, set in the former grounds of the Earl of Derby’s estate, a wonderful rural location in the heart of the Fylde countryside.

Whether you are a grandparent, parent, child or grandchild, there are plenty of things to do and see in the area. Surrounded by lush greenland and mature trees makes Mowbreck Park the perfect location for countryside walks or you could take a stroll into Kirkham which is only a mile and a half away. The surrounding farms and fields of The Fylde coastal plain make a peaceful, rural backdrop. There is fishing available within 3 miles and children’s play areas nearby.

Visit nearby Blackpool, situated just six miles from Mowbreck Park, to see the bright lights and entertainment, or stroll around Lytham St Annes. There is an excellent selection of local country pubs which offer quality meals and numerous tea shops, and several locations in the town of Kirkham offering a variety of evening entertainment.

Stayed here many times......clean caravans, well maintained site and good value for money. It's a quiet site , in my view better suited to adult singles / couples. Helpful reception.

I booked this holiday last minute due to my previous booking through Hoseasons was cancelled 5 days prior to my holiday during school holidays so there wasn't a lot of choice left. On the website it stated that you could check in at 16.00 & check-out was 09.00, Tara phoned me to inform me that check in was 14.00 & check out was 10.00 which is fantastic! When I booked in Tara was on reception gave me a warm welcome. The caravan was warm, clean and there was plenty of cooking materials plus a great oven that was easy to use. They provided a scourer and blue dish cloth, tea towel and oven gloves.....unfortunately there wasn't any soap in the bathroom or washing up liquid. Beds were made up on arrival. You do need to take your own towels but that wasn't a problem for me. The site is quiet (no shop or play area) which is what we wanted. The location is great for day trips.... Southport 40 mins, Lake District 90 mins away, Blackpool/ Preston is possible by the train station that's approx 7 mins by car and a large Morrison's, chip shop and a Chinese take away a bit further. In the other direction approx 5 mins away in the car is a fuel station with a Greg's located inside, Aldi, KFC & Burger King. If you head towards the M55 you will see Henry's Smokehouse ( reviews looked good but unfortunately we didn't have time to try it). There's also a bus service from the end of the road. I would definitely go back again. I hope this review helps.
