Hillcroft Park is perfectly situated and offers easy access to the Lake District and the local towns for those who like to discover some of Cumbria’s more specialist shops. Within a short distance from the park there are many local attractions such as the Rheged Visitor Centre and The Ullswater Steamer. Gentle walks, such as the one to the Aire Force Waterfall are just a short drive away. For the more adventurous walkers, Helvellyn and other more taxing walks are close by.

Srayed at Meadow Croft cottage, lovely accommodation with great countryside views and despite being located at the entrance of the park felt very private and no noise issues. Another cottage next door but didnt feel this affected our privacy, especially regarding using hot tub. Hot tub an OK size (we have had smaller in holiday lets), well kitted out kitchen/utensils etc, really comfy sofas and beds, liked that the bedroom hallway had a privacy/fire door to main entrance hall/kitchen as this kept internal sound down for bedrooms. Huge TV! Short walk (less than 10 mins) to Pooley Bridge, the site entrance is on a gradient without a pavement but only for a few minutes. The only reason we did note score 5 stars for the accommodation is that there is only one (very large) bathroom (with bath and a level access shower, and a tv) which was OK for a family of 3 adults but may not suit couples, friends or a bigger group. I would 100% recommend this accommodation, and would definitely return. Other info to note, Pooley has several food options, and there was a pizza wagon on the Hillcroft site on Friday eve (didn't try it so can't recommend), we did get the fish and chips from the chippie van on Saturday eve which were excellent but quite pricey (about £14 pp), we preordered on their website. Bus service in Pooley, but we were unable to get get a taxi back from Penrith on Saturday around 3pm (Uber or local) so waited an hour for a bus back which is fine on Saturday as the service runs into the evening, however we planned to have a curry in Penrith on Sunday eve when the return bus service stops about tea time, so prebooked a taxi for Sunday eve with a local taxi service to avoid any problems

Lovely surroundings with great views, There are red squirrels around the park and plenty of bird boxes for the wild birds Found the park peaceful and relaxing Pooley bridge is just a little walk down the road which is a nice place to go and get something to eat and drink, you can get busses to windermere and penrith.
