Very disappointing trip! We returned to Heacham beach after having a wonderful holiday last year. The location is great, being a short walk from the beach, especially useful with 2 small children. What has happened to Heacham beach this year! We booked swimming on Monday, to be told the pool was closed. We booked swimming on Tuesdsy, to be told “they did not order the heating oil on time so could not heat the water”. On Wednesday the swimming pool temperature was really too cold. My 2 year old was blue and shivering within 5 minutes so after 10 minutes we got out. The pool area was absolutely filthy. We were swimming at 10am and the shower tray was completely blocked with filth and hair so the water was not draining. There was a large amount of sand in the swimming pool and such a stench in the charging rooms. The smell was so bad (drainage maybe) that we had to get changed around the pool. The floor was so very dirty. We asked the life guard what temperature the pool was and she struggled and was not helpful at all. After the disappointing experience I went to reception to report this. The receptionist was very apologetic but the facilities manager was plain rude and unhelpful. She claimed the pool was at temperature and that they do not clean the pool area/ sand until the season has finished! She asked me what I expected coming out of season and that we were lucky to swim with how hard she finds it getting staff! Unfortunately we had a disappointing experience and have forwarded onto head office. We returned home on Thursday and was not able to use the facilities for the rest of the week. Will not be returning sadly.

Caravan park in good location only about 5 minutes from the coast. Caravan was reasonably clean and beds all made for our arrival. You need to take your own towels & washing up materials. Meals, coffees and bar some nice offers available and helpful staff. We did struggle with the wifi even though free wifi is offered. Kept going us out & then difficult to get back in in that device, that needs sorting out.
