Me and my family booked one of the 6 bedroom lodge ( lodge 40) for 4 nights over the Christmas period. Prior to checking in at the beginning of December I emailed to enquire if breakfast was included with our stay. I was told it was, then another email was sent to say it wasn’t a few days later (which I didn’t pick up ) A few days before we arrived my mother called just to make sure breakfast was included and to see if we could use the gym etc. once again we were ensured breakfast was included and that we had use of all facilities.( Frances was the last who we spoke to )When me and my partner arrived to check in with Sandra. She told us breakfast wasn’t included with our stay. You can imagine I was a bit annoyed after checking multiple times to ensure it was. I explained this and showed Sandra the email (written proof) that we were told breakfast was included. She then said she will show this to the manager and went back into the office. Sandra then came back out and said she called the manager and they said they would provide breakfast this time as we have been told multiple times. I said thank you for understanding and helping and we left to go to the lodge……The next morning my mother and grandmother left to go for breakfast and were turned away. This was a total embarrassment for them and when the came back to the lodge and explained to me, I called reception who put me through to the office. I cannot remember the lady’s name however I wish I did because she was nothing but rude and unhelpful but I do know she was the manager. She belittled me over the phone and did nothing to accommodate the fact that I was told multiple times, by phone, email and in person that we would have breakfast included either our stay. I explained Sandra who checked us in said she spoke with the manager and we were told that they would honour it for our stay. She told me that Sandra lied to our face as she is the manger and she did not okay anything . And hung up the phone with no apology or solution. After all this I let it slide as I was sick of being lied too, belittle and just ill treated consider they are meant to be working in customer service they need better training in the basics. The lodge its self was lively however we had to call multiple times and only one shower in the whole lodge worked. As the rest didn’t stay warm for longer than 5 mins which with 10 adults and 2 babies this was ideal as you can imagine. This was never properly sorted the whole stay it was like a game of what shower will work today. While I was cooking Christmas dinner the microwave stopped working , which was ideal either but I guess that’s just our luck at this pointI stated earlier I took my two children one being a baby. I had to use the kettle for her bottles of coarse. After the first day she took not well and we couldn’t understand why. It wasn’t until one of the nights I looked inside the kettle and I eas horrified to find bugs and a massive moth floating in it. This was my last straw , I just wanted home at this point t the whole stay was a mess. I gave up calling for help as received no apology or common decency. We know we weren’t the only ones having issues during our stay as we spoke to another family but they said they had received a free dinner as compensation which I was shocked to hear as we had received nothing but bad manners and belittling comments (from staff and management) we might not look like the usual clients but our money is as good as anyone else’s.Would Never recommend this place to anyone who like to be spoken to like a decent person and not a peice of dirt
