Cedar Retreats is part of our Autograph Lodge Holidays Collection, a small cluster of luxury lodges nestling in a beautiful lakeside setting close to the renowned village of West Tanfield. Superbly located for exploring the Yorkshire Moors and Dales and perfect for opulent rural retreats or indulgent romantic escapes.

Stunning contemporary design meets sumptuous soft furnishing in these blissfully comfortable lodges, creating an über-stylish home-from-home complemented by external decking and hot tubs – the ultimate way to unwind and soak up the serene beauty of a landscape that inspired the Brontës.

This is classic walking country, with the Pennine Way, Brimham Rocks and towering Malham Cove offering but a few awe-inspiring examples of the spectacular geology. Delightful market towns Bolton Abbey, Skipton and Leyburn are well worth visiting, while Ripon hosts the contrast of evocative Fountains Abbey and the white-knuckle rides of Lightwater Valley Theme Park. Elegant Harrogate and famous Betty’s Tea Rooms are an absolute must for any visitor!

Absolutely loved staying here. It is super peaceful and relaxing, yet very conveniently located to visit places in the Dales. Ripon isn’t far at all and Masham is even closer. The village of West Tanfield where Cedar Retreats is located is stunning and has two good pubs, a little cute paper ship with essentials and stunning walking paths. The lodge was nice and big and with us having a dog, it was great to see the decking was fully enclosed so she couldn’t wander off. The park is very well kept and it was blissfully quiet on an evening as well as throughout the day. The lodge we stayed in, number 18, had the hot tub positioned at the back of the lodge which faced fields with sheep and trees so it was nice and private. The hot tub was also bromine treated rather than chlorine which was pleasant and they were cleaned between every stay.Overall, we would definitely recommend and will return soon
