Ashby Woulds Lodges and Spa

On the first appearance the lodge needed a repaint. Clean and tidy inside except for the en-suite bathroom, this had mould on the skirting boards and a little in the shower and on the screen too.No where to hang wet towels after showering in the en-suite The carpet in the living area was shabby near the front doors and could do with replacing. The dining table and chairs had also seen better days.The double bed was very firm and really uncomfortable and a lack of sockets in the bedrooms.The kitchen had modern appliances although no instructions on how to use them.The hot tub was lovely but very strong on chemicals, one of our party had allergic reaction to this.It says in the brochure you overlook the canal or the countryside, we overlooked other lodges!

I would most likely not return to this location. We turned up on the Friday for a long weekend. The hot tub in lodge 10 was not warm and even with calling someone out twice it could not be sorted so we could not use it that night. We tried again the next morning but It was still not up to temperature, also found the dishwasher was broken and there was a stagnant smell coming from the onsuite bathroom. Called staff out again who had a look at all three things, they confirmed they would contact the boss/owner to find out what to do and then they left and we never heard anything else. The staff were very polite and lovely however the facilities were not up to standard and we could barely use the hot tub which was our main reason for going. Would not visit again unfortunately.

Been here twice, staff are nice & helpful, good value for money on lodges, there spacious, clean & got everything we needed, will definitely be back again
