Situated on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, discover your own beautifully presented four-star cottage, situated in the 200-year-old conservation village of Ellenabeich, near Oban on Scotland’s beautiful west coast. Ellenabeich is reached by crossing the famous ‘Bridge over the Atlantic’ at Clachan onto the Isle of Seil. Your onward journey to Tramway Cottages boasts beautiful scenery and views of the Atlantic. The cottages are accessible by car, and you don’t need to get a ferry unless you wish to visit Easdale Island, which is a 3-minute crossing by foot ferry from Ellenabeich.
Sleeping up to four people in luxurious comfort, the cottage offers a complete escape where you can truly unwind in your own peaceful seaside retreat. Pets are welcome in Rockpool Cottage, because after all, dogs need holidays too. Each cottage has a small, enclosed, rear garden and there’s a small charge per week per pet. Relax in the cosy living room in Rockpool Cottage with its open fireplace built from local slate, and comfy sofas with designer furnishings. The living room has a 42? Smart TV and a DVD player with a selection of films for those rainy days, whilst the kitchen features all the conveniences needed.
There are two luxurious bedrooms; the main bedroom has a kingsize bed and the smaller bedroom has zip and link 2ft 6in twin beds. Both bedrooms are served by a bathroom.
Ellenabeich is a quiet, traditional village with pretty, white-washed, old slate workers cottages. It has a small convenience store with post office, oyster bar and restaurant, slate mining museum, local boat trips and a village hall with regular events. A short passenger ferry trip takes you over to Easdale island, world famous for its historic slate quarries, which also has an excellent slate mining museum and a bar and restaurant. The Isle of Seil is one of the Slate Islands, known as the “Islands which roofed the world” and has been linked to the mainland by the Clachan Bridge (Bridge Over The Atlantic) since the late 18th century. The central village of Balvicar, just a 3-mile drive, has a well-stocked village shop, post office and 9-hole golf course. There are several fantastic boat trip operators nearby offering a chance to see the amazing wildlife, including a high-speed rib boat trip through the Corryvreckan whirlpools. Pub within a mile.
This property can be booked with Seashell Cottage (ref UKC6755) to accommodate up to 8 guests.
