Pear Tree Barn was a lovely little cottage. Very clean and well-equipped. As others have commented, it is extremely compact so, for example, we unpacked immediately and returned our suitcases to the car as there was no internal space for storage! There is no oven, but there is a multi-task oven/grill/heating implement with various functions. This was more successful we found for grilling/reheating. We enjoyed chatting with David next door who was very helpful. It was lovely having our own little outside seating area and parking right by the cottage. The Crooklands Hotel was more than adequate for a couple of meals during our 5 night stay. We chose the area for easy access to the Yorkshire Dales as well as the Lake District. Very well located for main roads and M6. All in all a lovely few nights.

Very small but with design features which offset this. Inn next door and we were fortunate enough to have the Country Fest on at the weekend. A special thanks to Mrs Birkett whose unstinting help made out break so enjoyable.

Pear tree barn was a perfect location for our needs. It is next door to a hotel that does very nice food. And there are canal walks across the road. The extras provided were a nice touch and very much appreciated. It is a compact, clean accommodation that is very well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. The only downside was the settee was not comfortable for long time sitting. We would stay at this accommodation again for a short break.
