The Old School 5 is a carefully converted, three-bedroom apartment set over two levels, and part of the former Fort Augustus Abbey. Special care has been taken to retain the property’s original features throughout whilst highlighting the splendid architecture. On entering the apartment, your first impression is elegance. The welcoming hallway leads to the main living area, and the downstairs bedroom has two single beds, and a there is a separate bathroom with a bath and shower. The living area is open-plan and very spacious, the vaulted ceilings and two large windows complement the spacious look. The kitchen is stylish and well-equipped with its granite worktops, and the central island is fully fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, washer/dryer and high-quality small appliances. The dining area is open plan and conveniently adjacent to the kitchen. The upstairs of the apartment consists of a kingsize bedroom with an en-suite, and a twin bedroom. There is also a peaceful and tranquil sitting room complete with a sofa bed.
Minutes from the apartment is the very pretty village of Fort Augustus which lies on the banks of Loch Ness where it meets the Caledonian Canal. This bustling Highland village has shops, restaurants, bars and boat trips. Inverness and Fort William are both just a 45-minute drive away. The Isle of Skye is just over an hour’s drive, and one of the most beautiful roads in Scotland taking you through the Kintail mountain range. On route, Eileen Donan Castle is worth a visit, as is the beautiful coastal village of Plockton. You’ll be spoilt for choice for activities on your doorstep including salmon fishing, walking, climbing, pony trekking, golf and so much more!
