This warm and welcoming property, set over two levels, also has two entrances with one being at ground level (especially handy for those with children and heavy luggage!), with the further entrance over the waterless moat and up a contemporary stairway to the first floor. When entering through the ground floor, you’ll find the first bedroom just off the corridor on your right with the bathroom just outside. This bedroom has three single beds, ideal for families or groups of friends. To the end of the corridor is the impressive bathroom with a Victorian-style roll-top bath and shower. The master bedroom with its lovely, vaulted ceiling was the original Armoury. Beautifully converted, it now benefits from a kingsize bed, built in wardrobes, TV and DVD player. As it was the original armoury, there are no windows, however ample light flows from the bathroom and hallway. Upstairs, the living room overlooks the main lawn and has two comfy sofas, one being a sofa bed for two extra people. The extendable dining table also provides seating for up to six.The kitchen is very compact but has everything you should need, including a cooker and hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer etc.
Minutes from the apartment is the very pretty village of Fort Augustus which lies on the banks of Loch Ness where it meets the Caledonian Canal. This bustling Highland village has shops, restaurants, bars, and boat trips. Inverness and Fort William are both just a 45-minute drive away. The Isle of Skye is just over an hour’s drive, and (in our opinion) one of the most beautiful roads in Scotland taking you through the Kintail mountain range. On route, Eileen Donan Castle is worth a visit, as is the beautiful coastal village of Plockton. You’ll be spoilt for choice for activities on your doorstep including salmon fishing, walking, climbing, pony trekking, golf and so much more! On-site, are a variety of free on-site activities available to guests (pre-book only) including a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, playground, tennis court, football goals, snooker table, table football and table tennis.
