Lobster Pot Cottage is one of the original fisherman’s cottages in the quaint ’Old Town’ of Scarborough. The property has been tastefully renovated to a high standard making it the perfect accommodation for a family holiday or couples getaway.
To the rear of the property is a small terraced area with seating, ideal for an evening meal after a day on the beach. The area is also enclosed, thus perfect if you’ve brought your four-legged friend. It is superbly situated as both the South Bay and North Bay are just a few minutes walk to reach either beach. There’s also a long Marine Drive that runs along the seafront, which makes for a lovely stroll looking overlooking the sea.
Scarborough is a traditional seaside town with lots of attractions for all age groups. For children, there are two fantastic beaches to enjoy with donkeys, rides, games, ice cream shops, and candy floss in abundance. Also close by are the Sealife Centre, Peasholm Park, and the Alpamare UK waterpark, which has a fantastic infinity pool along with lots of slides, water chutes, and a great wave machine. The Dalby Forest, home to a World Cup XC mountain bike trail, is a great place to go with the bikes and try out all of their trails, or visit ’Go Ape’, the high ropes activity adventure park above the trees of the forest. For the adults, there are plenty of bars, restaurants, and traditional pubs near the cottage. The indoor market has plenty of interesting eateries, as well as the traditional market stalls. On the lower floor in the vaults of the building are lots of interesting shops with antiques and books.
The seaside resorts of Whitby, Flamborough Head and Filey are within a short car drive. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is further down the coast, where you can see the migrating seabirds, especially the puffins. Lobster Pot Cottage is perfectly situated as a base to visit the North York Moors National Park, the East Coast, and the Yorkshire Wolds.
Beach: 600 yards; shop and restaurant: 500 yards; pub: 200 yards.
