Meet Greg, CEO of Richardson's Boating Holidays. Wally B Hoseason sold Mr Richardson his first motor cruiser in 1944 and today, Richardson's has the largest fleet of boats on the Norfolk Broads!
1. Where is your favourite holiday destination in the UK?
After the Broads National Park, it’s the New Forest National Park.
2. What is the strangest pet you’ve ever had aboard one of your boating holidays?
Rabbits, rats, parakeets, cats...
3. Any holiday horror stories?
Rabbits being airlifted to safety when the humans they had in charge of the boat run aground!
4. What is the one thing everyone seems to forget to pack for their holiday?
Their worries and troubles, which is just wonderful!
5. What do you think the UK travel industry will look like in another 80 years?
It's hard to predict what the menu will look like. I think the recipe, however, will remain the same: creating fun spaces for precious time away with families and friends.
6. How has your business changed over the years?
The product offer diversified into wider hospitality and has now returned with a laser focus to where our amazing team deliver second-to-none customer experience: boating and holiday park holidays.
7. What does the future hold for Richardson's Boating Holidays?
To continue to build on the amazing legacy of Mr Richardson. Exciting plans for our Marinas at Stalham and Acle (subject to planning and funding).
8. Do you have an 80th birthday message for Hoseasons?
Happy joint 80th birthday!! With Wally Hoseason selling Mr Richardson his first motor cruiser McNabb in 1944, there feels a special connection with Hoseasons, with our partnership growing stronger as the years go by.
