Celebrating 80 years of Hoseasons

Meet Gerry, who works on our Customer Service team and will celebrate a very special anniversary of her own in 2025 - 50 years with Hoseasons.
1. When did you start working for Hoseasons?
1st December 1975 as a Temp. Prior to that you had to attend a one week training course on selling and using the telephone. I was made permanent on my 21st birthday in February 1976.
2. What do you enjoy most about Hoseasons?
Helping guests with their holiday arrangements. Being able to help them with their queries about their holiday, over the years building rapport with guests and some of the owners.
3. What are your favourite memories of working here?
There have been so many over the years and being part of a team who work together and the added bonus of enjoying long term friendships which continue to this day. Manning the stand at the Boat Show, Owner Meetings and Owner Conference.

4. Where is your favourite holiday destination in the UK?
Shropshire Union Canal or any boating holiday.
5. What is the one thing you won’t go on holiday without?
Waterproof, Camera, Phone. Map if going boating.
6. What is your favourite thing about working for Hoseasons?
All the amazing people I’ve worked with over the years. The company always investing in the latest technology, so you have everything to make your job easier. The product knowledge educationals - sampling the product on boating trips and park visits.

7. What are you most proud of when you look back over the past 80 years of Hoseasons? What has been the biggest achievement?
The expansion of the branding after starting in Boating to then progress into Holiday Parks and Lodges and Cottages. Also the introduction of computers in the 1980s!

8. What do you think the UK travel industry will look like in another 80 years?
Guests will be thinking more of their carbon footprint, not going on long-haul holidays and instead will have staycations in the UK.
