Nestled 5 miles from the historic harbour town of Kirkcudbright, Brighouse Bay Holiday Park is a family owned pet-friendly holiday park offering a mix of stylish accommodation on the stunning Solway coast.

Far from the hustle and bustle of modern day living is a beautiful park with family friendly facilities with a stunning coastline free to explore. There’s a sandy beach, nature walks, rich wildlife, birdsong and lots more for you to enjoy. For the more adventurous, the park has its own slipway launch to catch any tide in the bay and created mountain bike trails, bring along your own bike and helmet and enjoy!

Sitting on the banks of the River Dee is the Solway coasts only working harbour. The attractive town of Kirkcudbright has always been popular with artists and became a magnet in the late 19th century with a colour blend of medieval, Georgian and Victorian buildings. The town hosts monthly farmers markets showcasing the area’s best local produce, Independent gift shops and highly acclaimed restaurants with freshly caught fish are always on the menu. There are miles of stunning coastline waiting to be explored, let your adventures begin!

Bradley Sheffield | Other A fantastic relaxing week, lovely surroundings on a clean and wellLooked after site. The lodge was perfect, hot tub a great addition. Only improvement would be to add tvs to the bedrooms and increase the lighting around the park as it is very dark!

Ellen Thompson Glasgow | Other Lovely lodge, spacious and spotlessly clean. The deck, with a very welcome hot tub, overlooked one of the ponds, home to a couple of swans.There were a few things I would add to the lodge including a couple of small side tables in the lounge, and a bigger frying pan, but it was generally well equipped. The staff were, on the whole,very pleasant and helpful.What let the park down was the leisure centre. Only open for 3 hours, and not every day, even though it was the Scottish schools October break. You get a 1 hour slot, although we were not told this until after we were asked to get out of the pool after only 30 mins! ( we went in 20 mins after the first session had started, we would have waited had we known!) The pool changing area was grubby, the baby change was on a wall next to an open door containing dangerous chemicals, lockers didn't work, and it cost £5 for a swim! It was extremely disappointing. I would have given 5 stars, but unfortunately the leisure centre let's this park down badly.

Gary Scotland | Other Lodge was lovely; perfect setting. Overall, lodge was clean .. until I looked, in detail … filthy underneath sofas .. rotten food/dried crisps/snacks and the laminated sign re ‘when you vacate’ was underneath sofa and found when checking underneath sofa! Fridge not clean and had black mould/ filthy (have taken photos) ... put right off! 2nd bedroom with two beds (the one not attached to any bathroom) .. radiator didn’t work .. smelt damp and cold! Shower head in twin bedroom - en-suite sprayed water everywhere! Kettle leaked so badly that when pouring scolded you. Gave feedback and provided with another kettle .. observed taken out of lodge, next door … didn’t use .. filthy .. photos taken!l, and gave feedback! Arrived in dark .. map is so useless, and signs and lighting worse! Had to knock on door of ‘resident’, who said terrible signs and map is useless .. spent 27 mins trying to locate property. Out of season, so get that .. but shop a shocker .. staff customer service even worse; clearly not interested! Will not recommend to friends and family! Want to make clear .. owners of lodge .. recommended and 5-star … owners of site/staff .. nope!
