Amidst the countryside, just past the Simonside Hills, lies our Percy Wood Country Park. Offering an incredible range of facilities and recreational activities from a golf course to the adventure playground, why not also explore the historical Viking & Roman towns nearby using the park as a base to uncover history and its powerful remains.

Druridge Bay Beach is just a 20-minute drive from Percy Wood for those days where you want to soak in the sun hitting the golden sand or if you fancy a bit of retail therapy then visit Morpeth town centre.

If you visit us during Octobers spooky season, then the Blair Witch Museum is a great attraction. Set in the historic market town of Alnwick, Barter Books is one of the largest second-hand bookshops in Europe. Barter Books, in the converted old railway station, is home to over 30,000 books and is famous for hitting the headlines in 2000 when its owner discovered the original (and now iconic!) ’Keep Calm and Carry on’ poster.

Jane Stourbridge | Other Percy Wood is not a site with lots of facilities, it has the golf course, a small games room and a quiet bar. But it is the lack of facilities which makes it attractive to us. The site is well laid out and kept to a very high standard. At least one parking space is provided next to each caravan/lodge. We enjoyed walking our pet around the site, there is a dedicated dog walk and plenty of dog poo bins. We rarely heard any noise from outside the unit. The location of the site is just off the A1 which makes it easy to travel north or south and it is only a couple of miles to Amble, Warksworth and Alnmouth. The accommodation we had (Platinum 3) was fairly new and very good in most respects with everything looked clean. The single beds looked very small but fortunately we did not have to use these. The mattress in the main bedroom wasn't the most comfortable though and the kitchen could have had better cooking and eating utensils. The unit was very warm even with the radiators turned right down and with temperatures dropping to 3 to 4 degrees outside on an evening (Mid October).The Wifi connection was fairly fast (about 30 mbs download) and very stable. The television had a good selection of channels and had good picture quality.

Claire Newcastle | Other The place is beautiful and peaceful. Caravan facilities amazing. Couple of little negatives. No lighting around hot tub so didnt use it. Decking slippy when wwt or covered in leaves. We couldnt find thermostate for heating so had to turn it on and off via the boiler.Would we go again 100%
