  • About Dylan Coastal Resort, Laugharne

    At Dylan Coastal Resort, you’ll be immersed in the awe-inspiring beauty and drama of the Carmarthenshire countryside and coastline, with spectacular scenery surrounding the clifftop lodges – and accommodation with large windows and private terraces from which to enjoy it.

    Perched high above the Taf Estuary – a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its saltmarsh vegetation and fish species – the resort occupies an idyllic location within this stunning area, with the Wales Coast Path stretching out in both directions, providing plenty of opportunities to explore. The renowned poet, writer and broadcaster Dylan Thomas once lived close by, and his former home and writing shed are open to the public, along with a tearoom, just a 10-minute walk away from the resort.

    Other attractions in the area include the National Botanic Garden of Wales (21 miles), Laugharne Castle (less than a mile), the sandy beach of Pendine Sands (4.8 miles), and the quaint seaside town and harbour of Tenby (20.7 miles). There’s plenty to do at the resort, too, from pampering spa treatments, relaxing in the sauna and steam room, and enjoying a meal or drink at the panoramic bar-restaurant, to more active pursuits such as tennis, swimming, outdoor play, and gym workouts. The indoor and outdoor infinity pools are a particular highlight!

      Set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with views over the Taf Estuary and Gower Peninsula and surrounded by mountains, lush green landscapes and secluded ancient forests criss-crossed by walking trails, the redeveloped resort of Landal Dylan Coastal Resort and Milk Wood House has been awarded Made for Mums bronze award for family friendly holidays. This area is famous for its long stretches of unspoilt golden sands, with some of the best family-friendly beaches, coastal paths and birdwatching in Britain. It’s little wonder that Carmarthenshire has inspired so many artists, poets and writers, including Dylan Thomas, who lived in the ancient estuary township of Laugharne nearby.

    Georgina Newport | Other Lovely location and fabulous lodge, information wasn't the best we weren't sure what was going on and local info was scarse, we also had activity cancelled that was the only thing we could book and no opportunity to rebook. There is also no food served between 2.45 and 5.00 pm appreciate not a full menu but surely a sandwich or something would be ok ? we planned on a late lunch on arrival but sadly had to make to with a drink. Gorgeous Spa / swimming pool would definitely go back.

    | Other We had our boys bedroom door locked. Reported to receptionist at 3pm. She promised someone was gonna come to fix it. No one turned up. The boys came out through the window to access the kitchen and during checkout too. Tried to call several times no success. It was awful experience. We were in 59 ferry hill They no longer providing gowns nor sleepers. This should be communicated to visitors so to bring their own. Been to Dylan every Easter for the past 3 years. It’s going down hill. Sadly . This visit has been the worse. Not sure if we are coming back . Better go to Spain and enjoy food and sun . It’s ridiculous how expensive and yet not responsive enough to make the place worth. Last year we we were in 67 ferry hill it was raining and our bedroom got flooded. The fun was so noisy that we couldn’t sleep that night .

    Jill Kent | Other Second time here and I’m glad we stayed the week on this occasion. The spa facilities, restaurant and lodge were excellent. We loved walking in the Laugharne area as well as venturing out further on the Pembrokeshire coast. Can’t wait for our next trip!

    The ideal choice for families and small group getaways, the lodge has an open-plan living area equipped with board games and a flatscreen TV, creating the perfect social setting in which to relax after a long day spent exploring Carmarthenshire. Meals can be prepared in the fully equipped kitchen (with kettle, cafetiere, toaster, microwave, oven, grill, hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer), and shared in the open-plan dining area.

    Undoubtedly one of the standout features of this lodge is the master bedroom, which boasts estuary views from the sumptuous king-size bed, a TV and an en suite with a shower and a freestanding bath in which to wallow.
