    David Laindon | Other Used the break to get away before Christmas. Had a relaxing time somewhere that seemed miles away even though we were in the same county.

    | Other 3 adults 1 toddler, Stayed in the pet friendly Lodge 6 with a hot tub.The lodge was clean and tidy to the eye however upon stripping the beds before we left there was blood on a pillow luckily hadn’t used and we have all come home with bite marks on our ankles and legs, this could be anything but the mattresses were very old.We read previous reviews of “paranormal activity” which scared us prior so incase anyone else reads this we had nothing of the sort, although doors didn’t shut properly but was comfortable and relaxing.All staff at reception and the boat house cafe were absolutely lovely and so helpful.Slight concern that a man came to check the hot tub every day which I understand not his fault but without warning walked into our secluded garden which felt slightly uncomfortable when walking around in a towel after a shower, feel we should be told beforehand but he obviously does a good job because the hot tub was perfect and clean.It’s a shame there’s no shop on site and if you’re coming with children there isn’t anything to do on site but only 10 minutes up the road was Lee valley adventure farm and park which we really enjoyed and Lee valley boat hire.The nearest shop had barely any stock so bring your own supplies and the local pubs food we personally did not enjoy at all wish we had tried the on site Indian restaurant because we heard such good things.On site boating cafe was lovely atmosphere and great food.Overall we did enjoy our stay just a couple of minor things ☺️

    Janet Derby | Other A good site in a nice area, though waiting for passing trains is a little frustrating! Good Indian restaurant and pleasant bar area on the waterfront. Visited Audley End House and Garden (40 mins away) and had a great day out there. Lots to see and do in the area.
